Last Wednesday morning, the pupils and teachers at Kohlberg Primary School had reason to celebrate. Hans Ringhoffer, owner of the company Ringhoffer Verzahnungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Kohlberg, paid a visit and brought with him a sizeable cheque: He donated EUR 15,000 to the school. “I want to support youth, you can still make a difference with the young,” Ringhoffer describes his basic idea. The entrepreneur is concerned about the general development of young people in Germany. “And it’s always the children that suffer.” The money will be used for a good cause. In the future, a school social worker will look after the well-being of the pupils in Kohlberg. The Chair of the Parents’ and Teachers’ Association, Dr. Viola Hörner-Wetzel, said: “We’ve had many ideas for projects already in the half year since the Parents’ and Teachers’ Association was founded, and school social work is our priority.” Its aim is to strengthen the feeling of belonging of pupils, teachers and parents. The theme “Fit for the future” highlights the aim of preparing pupils for secondary schools and for society. Headteacher Karin Schwab-Fiedler agrees: “The donation allows us to better implement our desires and needs.” At the end of the celebrations, the pupils and teachers proudly presented the cheque and posed for a group picture together with Hans Ringhoffer and Dr. Viola Hörner-Wetzel (both at the centre of the back row).
